I am currently working on the X20CP1686X PLC to control a third-party Powerlink control node. I have set up the connections as shown in the attached figure, with the IP addresses mentioned.
The control node supports a web server, and we can access its web pages in a browser using its IP address. However, I am encountering an issue where I cannot open these web pages if the gateway IP is set to anything other than 240, in Automation Studio.
This is because that is not actually a gateway IP. That is the node number acting as the gateway, and with Powerlink node 240 is the managing node (PLC), which is why it works. If you look closely it also says that in the Description column of the “IP Gateway” setting in the quoted picture. “Node number of EPL station acting as IP def…”.
Your 192.168.1.254 gateway is not needed unless you actually have a device in the network (most likely a router), with that address, which provides access to some other network not shown in your system layout picture… Gateway addresses are only used if there is no route found to the target and as you have created a manual route this gateway address is not used.
