HCD8 Amplifier Modules

Cannot program 8BVI0220HCD8.000-1 in Automation Studio 4.12. The CPU (X20CP1382) SDM sees the unit but says it isn’t configured. There is also no AR for this model, that I can find. It comes from a Comau Robot, so do I need Comau software to bench test it?

Hello,

the X20CP1382 is discontinued and to see it in the selection of Automation Studio you have to select the Legacy Device Icon.

The last Automation Runtime can be downloaded at the Website.

Automation Runtime i0483-x20cp1382

The Hardware Upgrade for the Inverter can be downloaded at the Website.

8bvi0220hcd0000-1

Please consider that you need a AcoposMulti PowerSupply Module for the Inverter
8BVI0220HCD8.000-1. It will need 24V from the Copper lines at the Backplane.

Got a bit sidetracked here so I didn’t follow up on this response. Thank you for that.

I do indeed have a Acopos Multi power supply that is supplying the 24V through the backplane. The unit is powering up but when I create the program and setup the hardware there is no option for an 8BVI0220HCD8.000-1 at all. There is an 8BVI0220HCD0.00-1 and an 8BVI0220HCDS.00-1. I try to set it up as an HCD0 since it isn’t a safety model (at least it does not have the safety versions of Endat 2.2 cards plugged into it) and through the SMD website it says the unit is not configured, though it is the correct serial number, and the one I’ve put in doesn’t exist. I’m thinking that if I could select that model in Automation Studio it would straighten this out but it isn’t a possibility. There is no AR that I can find for the HCD8 version.

Hello,

There is a HW upgrade available for the 8BVI0220HCD8.000-1 if you’re logged in to the B&R website. If you don’t have website credentials, contact your local B&R office please.

Hello,

Independent from having the correct upgrade i think you have to check the Station-Number which you intended to use and which is acutaly set up on the drive.

We can see that the “not Configured” Entry which is the Serial AD1C0171834 → 8BVI0220HCD8.000-1 has the Station Number .ST18

In the Picture we currently can not see which Station Number is set up for the configured Module but i think it could be on the Default .ST1

The Station Number of the AcoposMulti is set up via the two switches on the module.
If you change them you have to go over a power cycle (24V off->on)

  1. Please get the Hardware Upgrade via Login on the Website or Local B&R Support.
  2. Adapt the Station Number on the Modul and in Automation Studio to match each other and your Intended value.

Greetings
Michael

Hi @Dale_Timmons , is it your issue answered, can you update us?

The address was in fact a problem. I got passed this part but am having further issues unrelated to it. Thank you everyone that helped with this portion.
