I am new to B&R and Automation Studio. I am trying to open a program from a machine my company bought but I got this: AR Version G4.93 is not installed on this computer. Where can I find that version? I really try to find in the downloads menu but nothing matches that name. I hope somebody could help me. Thanks
If a Upgrade is not shown in the Automation Studio Upgrades Dialog you can go to the B&R Website and have a look there. Normaly the content should be identical but somethimes there is an issue with the update of the AS Dialoge and then the Website is more actual.
To use the Upgrade you must use the “Local”-Tab in the AS Upgrade Dialog.
If the issues with the Upgrade Dialog in Automation Studio persists, please check if a Firewall is blocking the Service or ask a local B&R Office for Support.
Hi Michael,
I was able to download the G093. Now Automation Studio is asking for mappMotion 5.26.0 mappView 5.24.1 mappControl 5.24.1 and mappCockpit 5.24.1. Could you help me to find those downloads please? Thank you in advance for your help.
Typicaly you should be able to find the upgrades with the Downlaod button. But as you had issues before i went on…
In this case you need a mappMotion version which is no longer online available.
All mappMotion versions <5.29.0 have been removed from online locations, due to some changes in export Rules regulations of European Union.
I see here 2 possibilities.
Request the mappMotion Upgrade from your local B&R Office. In this way B&R can gurantee that the Export Rules were applied.
upgrade the Project to the new mappMotion 5.29.0 version which can be downloaded from the website. This could require additional changes in the project.
MappControl and MappCockpit 5.24.1 can be found on the website. You can use Searchword “mapp 5.24.1”
I could not find mappView 5.24.1
As i do not know the cause, why it is not available, i would suggest to also request it from the local B&R office.
Sorry for the difficulty to get all the upgrades. But as you can see there are various topics which can lead to a removal of a upgrade from online source.
If you get a Automation Studio Project you can try to ask the supplier for a version with saved Upgrades. They can generate it via “Save with Upgrades”.
If you are looking for a x.yy.1 version and can’t find it, a .2, .3 or .4 should be usabled. That last decimal indicates bug fixes, so a .1 version is the initial release and .2, .3… indicate bugs have been fixed.
So unless you absolutely know there is some work around in your project for some bug in the .1 version, I would believe you would be just fine with a x.yy.2 or greater
Also regarding missing AR versions, sometimes the AR versions (especially older versions) that shipped with a release of Automation Studio are not available as standalone downloads.
