Mapp Cockpit / mapp View: correct PLC time essential for browser operation

Hello! I would like to share one important information about the usage of mapp Cockpit and mapp View with versions 5.24 and higher (excluding early 6.x versions) and 6.3 and higher.

With these versions, changes were necessary to ensure proper browser functionality. Cookies only work properly when the PLC time does match the real current time.
If this is not the case, tools like mapp Cockpit cannot load and only show a blank page or splash screen:

To configure the PLC time correctly, use “Online → Info”, go to tab “Date/Time” and use “Get PC Date/Time” and “Set to Target”.

This way mapp Cockpit and mapp View can properly function.

When NTP client is configured, you get:

Date & time can be set when NTP client is off.

Stupid question: Why it is not possible to display an error message “wrong date/time“ instead of the hourglas ?

Hello Frank,

They have realised that this was a rather good solution and did indeed improve the behaviour in another Update. This was also mentioned here in Community in another Thread, but i could not find it in short. There was a 5.24.x Version which changed it.

I think you mean this wiki post mappView 5.24.5/6.x - a feature to renew session cookie was introduced
