Background
The FAT file system-based automation runtime supports file names based on ASCII strings with certain additional restrictions
This means that files created, for example, using FileIo or MpRecipe must comply with these specifications.
If a recipe management system is now implemented, a logical structure would be for the name of the recipe to correspond directly to the name of the file. A dialogue box in MappView therefore prompts the user directly to enter the name of the recipe (and thus the name of the file).
To ensure that no incorrect entries can be made in mappView, only characters that comply with the Automation Runtime specifications are permitted in text input fields.

Problem
The system described above works well with ASCII-based languages (Latin characters).
However, the machines are supplied worldwide and are therefore also used in regions where the writing systems are not based on Latin characters. Languages such as Russian (which uses the Cyrillic alphabet), for example, contain virtually no characters from the ASCII character set.
As a result, it is not possible to enter recipe names as they are filtered by the RegEx.
current status
B&R does not yet have a solution for this. A proposal to modify the keyboard call so that it can be accessed using the English layout where necessary was rejected.
Consequently, the only option at present is to inform the user that they must manually switch the keyboard to the English layout when entering recipe names.
Question
Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any solutions available to get round this problem, or does anyone have any ideas for a possible workaround?
Thank you very much in advance for your feedback.
