MappView windows lacks basic components such as layout, widgets, etc

When I installed the software using the evaluation license, the maps were missing, so I accessed B&R Download to download the necessary mapp. However, when I expanded the download window, it didn’t contain all the necessary components. Is this because I’m missing some parts, or does the evaluation license not allow the use of these map components? Below is my map view; it doesn’t contain any layout, widget, resources, visualization, or other components.

Hi @trung123 ,

When I installed the software using the evaluation license, the maps were missing, so I accessed B&R Download to download the necessary mapp.

I did the same, in the past it was available one huge zip file ~7GB with all included, later on as you said we have to download the package you need:
a) basic AS with only Help online
b) AS Help to install that in case your Internet connection is not fast or not available all the time
c) mapp Services
d) mapp View
e) mapp Motion
f) …

Is this because I’m missing some parts, or does the evaluation license not allow the use of these map components?

No same configuration on my pc, Have you tried mapp View visualization templates?

Which Automation Studio are you using?
Which mapp View release have you installed?
For new prj I recommend AS 6.5.2 and mapp View 6.6.
Ciao

Dear Valerio Manenti,

First of all, thank you very much for your helpful responses to my previous questions.

I am currently working with Automation Studio version 4.12.9.18 and MapView 5.24.7. I’ve encountered an issue where selecting visualization.vis immediately triggers a warning. It appears that the system is unable to access the URL/website referenced within the XML file.

Although my computer has a stable internet connection, I am unsure if Automation Studio is correctly configured to access the network. Furthermore, when I manually try to visit the URL from the XML file via a browser, I receive a “Page Not Found” error.

Could you please guide me on how to verify if Automation Studio has the necessary network permissions to download web resources? Being new to B&R PLCs, I’m still navigating these technical hurdles and would greatly appreciate your expertise.

Thank you for your time and patience.

In the logical view/libraries I can’t find the mapview to implement HMI programming.

Hi @trung123 ,
this is what I know about the Evaluation License:
After installing AS, a 90-day evaluation license will be activated automatically.
While in evaluation mode:

  1. You will get a pop-up when you open AS and when you transfer to the target that indicates you are in evaluation mode and how many days are left in your evaluation period.
  2. You cannot use online upgrades (the “B&R Website” tab of Tools Upgrades). All upgrades must be manually downloaded from the website and then installed via the “Local” tab of ToolsUpgrades.
  3. Commercial use of Automation Studio with an evaluation license is not permitted(refer to the EULA).
  4. It is possible to create new projects and edit existing projects.
  5. Evaluation of software components (mapp Technology, runtime systems, etc) is permitted without their respective licenses (refer to theEULA).
Once the 90-day evaluation period expires, customers can request another free evaluation license from the website if needed (Service tab → Software Registration → “Request Free Evaluation License” button).

I hope it helps
Ciao
Valerio

I see now your issue:

Here we are:

Based on what you select on logical view/configuration view/physical view there is a filter on what you can choose on the obj catalog.

I truly appreciate your help. I spent quite a while trying to figure out what was missing and why the mappView package wouldn’t display. I apologize for taking up your time with what turned out to be a basic issue.
