Did anyone use this function?
If I want get the volumes of a cube, which data I should read?
Hello,
I have unfortunately not yet utilized this function, but to obtain the volume, you can use the “Volume” output [Px^3].
Another aspect that may be useful with this function is calculating the height, which can be derived from the outputs “GrayScaleValue” and “GrayScaleResolution,” with the calculation being “Height = GrayScaleValue * GrayScaleResolution” [mm].
Have a nice day.

Hi @kamil.ruzicka
How are you? It’s glad to take your advice ,
I did the following tests!
After adding objects under the laser line in sequence, take a picture of each of them and scan them
The output volume does not increase according to the number of objects, which is anomalous, and I’m curious why it still outputs volume when scanning a single line at the beginning.
The test results are as follows
1 No object block Volume value : 17659136
2 Two objects Volume values : 17331251
3 Three objects Volume values : 17822393
Hi @mar,
can you share your Vision HW set (Vision Sensor, Laser, holder of the Sensor and Laser)?
I think it can have two reasons:
- Wrong distance between the object and 2.5D system
- I’m not sure, but maybe you have to activate some kind of filter. Maybe a Red filter will be on the Vision HMI page Image Acq. and if not, it is in the I/O mapping of the VSS in AS.
I hope that the solution will be something trivial.
Have a nice day.
Kamil
Nice, but I meant their order numbers
But when I see it now, I would say that there are three possible problems:
- Right distance scaling (AS Help GUID: 0b3e6744-4c58-4e19-8010-2172556591ff or B&R Online Help)
- That the object is in still position → 2.5D technology needs to move of the object
- Right setup in the section Line sensor/2.5D in the online Vision HMI (AS Help GUID: 05ea0a1a-6e23-4fed-b8c9-4a029211a349 or B&R Online Help)
The problem here is most definetely that the object is not moving. 2.5D requires the object to move “through” the laser. So you would either need a conveyor belt or something to move the camera & laser over the object.
I use VSS112 take the photo .
After that I found It almost not support 2.5D mode
And the question is I couldn’t make the object move to through the Laser
Thank you for tour help!
Thanks !
you are right !
At first , I think it doesn’t need continue move , I can move it by hand
Now I found my mistake , I will improve it.
