Hello all
I have a variable in the OPC UA Default View which is needed for my mappView HMI so it’s “enabled” in the Default View.
The Permission for the Anonymous_Role is only Read (see picture).
Why do I see this variable when I connect with UA Expert to the CPU as Anonymous and I can even change the value of it?
The Anonymous_Role has no rights…

This is because you have set the Anonymous Access to use the “Well-known role” “BR_Engineer”.

I can remember that the B&R support told me to do this because I had problems with the mappView connection.
Is this needed if mappView is used? Or can I just remove the BR_Engineer?
Depends on what you need to do with mapp View. So can’t say with 100 % certainty.
If you do not use the Anonymous access with mapp View, removing it should not have any effects.
So if I use “fixed user” for Startup User in mappView I don’t need the BR_Engineer for the AnonymousToken?
If you use the “fixed user” as a Startup User there should be no need for the AnonymousToken to have the BR_Engineer role.
