Hello.
I’m working with a B&R FT50 power panel, configuring the system date and time, as they were incorrect from the factory.
The problem is that after turning off or disconnecting the panel, the configured date and time are lost when power is restored.
I reviewed the official FT50 documentation (MAPFT50 V1.30) and discovered that, according to the technical data, the FT50 includes a non-user-replaceable, rechargeable internal backup battery (“backup battery”) in all FT50 variants.
However, I didn’t find clear information in the manual about how this backup battery is used to maintain the real-time clock (RTC) or under what conditions it maintains the date and time (e.g., hold time, battery discharge status, or system configuration).
Before assuming a hardware failure, I’d like to clarify the following:
Does the FT50’s internal backup battery maintain the date and time when the main power is disconnected? If so, how long is the RTC expected to remain without mains power?
If the FT50 isn’t designed to retain the date and time using its internal battery, is it normal for the time to reset after a power cycle?
Does B&R have any recommended solutions to prevent this issue (e.g., NTP synchronization, specific system settings, or external backup solutions)?
Any guidance or experience with this model would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
