I want to ask
i have acopos track with some specification, than i change acopos old using new serial acopos track, wether i change all componen using witch differend spesification? or just change acopos unit only?
Hi Rijaluddin,
This question is a little unclear. Can you please try explaining it a little more? Pictures and diagrams are also helpful if you have them.
incidentally there is no picture, what i mean is if i want to replace the old spesification acopos with new spedification do i have to change the entire component series? or can i only replace the acopos part?
Hi,
I’m also struggling to understand what you mean.
It would be helpful if you could structure your question with as many details as possible including but not limited to:
a) what is “old specification” ACOPOS (trak) supposed to mean?
b) what is “new specification” supposed to mean?
c) what “component series” do you mean? Each ACOPOStrak is one component, plus cables, plus rails plus possibly shuttles.
Maybe add order codes of the components (both old and new)
Please elaborate.
Best regards
Michael
Hello Rijaluddin,
Not sure if you are asking about something similar as what I was looking for some days before but for my case the question was “If there was already an ACOPOSTrak setup with old revision hardware in the field and it had some segments brokedown, can it be replaced with new revision segment” and the answer is
Remark:
All revisions can be combined as needed,
so it is not necessary to have the same revision within one layout!
Hopefully this helps.
Samuel
Well, this is exactly what I mean and you understand that.
it looks like the document can’t be opened
The reason is that @samuel.chua tried to post internal pages ( )
The relevant part for you was quoted, though.
then how do I get the following information?
In the post that you replied “Well, this is exactly what I mean and you understand that.” to, a quote was posted similar to (paraphrasing): “All revisions can be mixed”, so I assumed you have read that.
Not sure what other information you are looking for.
from user Samuel Chua, who sent me a document link for me to understand further
Hi @arijaluddin,
The document that Samuel had previously shared was internal, so unfortunately it cannot be posted here. However, I just took a look at it and there is no further information related to this topic beyond that remark.
Do you have any specific questions you would like an answer to before you’d consider this topic resolved?
So maybe a series of examples like this, for example we use PLC, Acopos, HMI, Servo Drive, we are all in the old version, but I only want to upgrade the Acopos section to the latest version, whether it’s the PLC and other components. others are required to upgrade to the new version too?
Ah okay, thank you for clarifying.
Samuel’s response was specifically in regard to hardware revisions of ACOPOStrak segments. Segments purchased more recently will have more recent hardware revisions (these are a letter and a number, i.e. B5). You can lay out one trak system with mixed and matched hardware revisions without issue.
When you start to talk about combining different products, what matters more is software versions. As far as I know, there is no limitation to hardware revision compatibility between a P3 servo drive and a trak for example. But the software versions dictate what hardware you can broadly use. For example, ACOPOStrak requires the mappMotion software package which has its own hardware and software requirements. You can find mappMotion System Requirements here and Performance Requirements here. You’ll just need to make sure you have a PLC/PC that can control all of your hardware. This sounds complicated, but there aren’t many limitations if you already have something running (which it sounds like you do from your original post).
The only other thing that comes to mind is related to upgrading to AS6. Some older hardware (such as the 8V servo drive pictured in your screenshot) was discontinued in AS6, meaning you’d have to use a P3 drive, but you could still use older ACOPOStrak segments.
That’s a general overview, but if you have any specific questions about hardware compatibility, let us know.
