Remote I/O Modules to install in long distance

We have a Remote IO installed in a separate building, and due to the distance involved, we are considering using a fiber optic (FO) Ethernet media converter to convert the Ethernet signal to fiber, and then back to Ethernet at the receiving end. Would this approach be feasible and supported?

Which HB modules to consider along with I/O modules.

Hallo Raghavendra,

Remote I/O doesn’t work over Ethernet. If you need to access your I/Os via fiber optics, you can use Powerlink, OPC UA, or Modbus/TCP bus couplers.

Stephan

Hello Stephan,

Thanks for your response.

I think this is the one you are talking about.

POWERLINK ring redundancy

Hallo Raghavendra,

if you don’t need ring or cable redundancy, then this is the solution I mean. POWERLINK
