Replacement part B&R 7EX477.50-2

Is there a new part to replace this type of part? B&R 7EX477.50-2

Hello,
unfortunatly no. This modules were discontinued around 2018
Nevertheless it might be possible to repair it (assuming electric parts are still available for this hardware)
Therefor I suggest that you contact your responsible B&R subsidiary and ask for repair

best regards !

Are there any suggestions for a replacement type from the B&R brand itself? because I have difficulty getting the datasheed from the website

This cannot be replaced that easy.
The hardware is so called “Remote IO” which is no longer available in newer hardware. This means that there is no replacement nowadays for such an old hardware.
Therefor as mentioned the only possibility is to repair this hardware if damaged as you cannot order it any longer nor a compatible replacement is available.

The EX477 is mentioned in the so called “2003” manual - the hardware platform/design was called system 2003

If I replace this part, that means I have to replace the entire circuit, right?

because there are plans to replace all of these devices

Yes but B&R does not offer a RIO slave station any longer.
So simply buying “a new remote station” is not possible. You also have to replace parts of your master station depending what the master is and which interface options the master has.

I am afraid that you should contact anyhow your responsible office as the whole task you are planning is not as easy as it sounds considering a potential replacement of the master as well

So to replace this part you have to replace all the old B&R devices with new ones, right?

Hard to say as we do not know the whole setup. Until now I can only see the RIO slave with its IO stations.
As mentioned RIO is no longer supported on newer hardware and if you want to replace the whole RIO station with newer hardware it depends on the master (the “PLC”) what you could connect.

Please contact your B&R office as they can help you here. I doubt that your PLC is a newer model supporting new IO Stations and therefor it is not a simple “unplug and replug” operation to simply replace the RIO station

OK, thank you for the answer sir
