I am currently working on maintaining an old system equipped with B&R Panelware controllers (0CP series). One of the panels is currently showing a “No Project” message, and I need to restore the configuration from a similar, working unit. The empty panel was damaged but I’ve succesfully revive it after a power surge. Tha machine works partially without the panel and the owner cannot afford a new or used one for replacement.
I have already prepared the following:
Hardware: Custom RS232 cable (0G0009.00-090) and a native serial port environment.
Environment: A Windows XP SP3 virtual machine with PVI 2.5 installed.
Problem: I only have the “Upgrade” files for Automation Studio 2.7, and I am missing the Base Installation Medium (ISO/Disk images) for PKS 2.4/2.5 or Automation Studio 2.7.
As these are legacy products no longer available for direct download on the official website, I am reaching out to the community. Does anyone have a copy of the PKS 2.4/2.5 setup or the AS 2.7 Base Install (not the upgrade) that they could share via a temporary download link?
My goal is to use the Runtime Utility Center (RUC) or PKS Transfer to perform an upload from the working panel and a download to the empty one.
I don’t know if this message is OK according to Community Rules but I really need some assistance from somebody with experience like you.
I’ve succeeded installing PKS and it works OK but I cannot connect to the controller. All I get is activity on one RX/TX led on the controller and therefore I suspect a wrong approach.
After a long study I’ve noticed in the installation manual for panelware hardware that the contoller behind the display (in my case 4C2200.01-510) uses B/R panelware software PG2000 (PL2000) - from the manual quote. In this case not being able to connect with PKS could have an explanation.
What I need to do is to clone the panel project from a working one to this one I have serviced. The panel behaves normal (switches to different modes, boots OK but it’s showing “No Project”. I’ve read the flash chips and all four are empty - maybe erased by somebody else before the panel arrived in service. The problem is that the only way to do the cloning must be software by connecting to the working machine since the owner would not agree to handel me the working panel.
Maybe you can help me find this piece of software if there is no big effort for you or, if I am doing something wrong, you can point me where.
PG2000 is no panelware software. It was the software used for programming PLCs
As far as I remember C220 controllers could be used with PG2000 or PKS
Depending which OS you downloaded (provided by the mentioned PG2000 or PKS) it was either a PG2000 program unit or PKS unit.
Please forgive me if my answers are a bit vague here but this is 25 years or even longer ago and I worked one time with PKS - so i forgot almost everything about this
If you need more help or struggle with it, maybe you can get in contact with local B&R support, and they can provide you with a service assistant. It will probably be a paid activity but can be faster. Just saying that there might be this option.
