Source File Comparison Minimum System Requirements

When trying to do a source file comparison, I’m getting the following error message:

Source file on target not possible.
Minimum system requirement: ANSL communication and Runtime Version >= A4.41

However, when going into the PLC properties, the Runtime version is J4.93

What would I need to do to be able to compare the source file?

Thanks,
Wes

Hello Wes

You’ll need to set the following property in your project:

See also:
Source file comparison - on target

Good luck!

That box is checked and still getting the same error.

I error states to use a later revision of AR, could it be the revision in use is too new?

Did you already transfer the project to the PLC? Because otherwise the files are not there yet. I would not expect it to be the AR version as it is quite recent.

Disclaimer, I’m new to the B&R world.

The machine I’m working on was installed awhile ago, I was trying to do a source code compare to see if I could look at any of the logic. When looking at the properties of the processor, it’s showing Runtime Version of J4.93

To fully answer your questions…

The machine was installed in 2021

I have not transferred anything to the PLC

Hi,

maybe, for whatever reason, you’re online connection uses INA protocol instead of ANSL, or the connected PLC does not have the runtime version installed that is set in the project?
If the software version on the machine is original from 2021, it cannot have J4.93 installed, because that AR version was not available 3 years ago (I’m not completely sure, but I think it’s out of 2024).

Could you please post a screenshot of your active online connection when connected to the PLC (the text infos in the lower right corner of Automation Studio, left of the RUN indicator)?
Maybe we can see from this picture the AR version and the connection protocol, it should be written there…

Best regards!
