To give a bit of context, I am new to the B&R world, but I have worked on other PLCs before.
I am trying to evaluate B&R hardware & software for a project. Currently trying to download a new project (that I created) to a X20CPU0483 (brand new open from box) that I have managed to borrow from another division. It comes with the X20BB52 Bus base as well as X20PS9600 with X20DI9372 & X20DO9321. I wanted to perform some basic valve operations for testing & have all hardware connected. I am using the 90 days evaluation license.
I think I have completed everything possible in terms of configuration, i.e. setting up the hardware in the physical view, setting the ethernet configuration, etc etc. But when I tried to transfer the project via the online transfer, the CPU keep losing the configured IP address so it keep getting stuck at the waiting for reconnection. Also, it does not seems like project is transferred because I am not able to monitor or see the status of the CPU. However, when I transfer the IP configuration from my project to the CPU after browsing for it, I am able to ping the CPU as well as go online and see that it is in boot mode.
Information that might be useful:
- I am connecting the CPU on IF2 via ethernet cable to my PC directly, nothing else connected.
- I have set up my PC 192.168.1.221 to be on the same subnet as the CPU 192.168.1.1 (subnet mask 255.255.255.0)
- I have saved and build the configuration with no errors
- I have transferred the IP configuration from project to the CPU after browsing and finding the CPU (initially 0.0.0.0)
- I have set the SNMP parameters to activated.
- The rest of the configuration for ethernet is default
- I am using automation studio V6.3.4.31
- I did not managed to go into the system diagnostic manager (SDM)
Questions I have is that have I forgot about something or did I configured something wrong? I tried to look through the basic getting started but there are no more settings that I need.
Or maybe the evaluation license does not allow me to transfer project to actual hardware? (I did not managed to find on the website that it is not allowed)
