Don’t think you can. All source files are open, so if you know what to do you can automate things or build editors, but there is no access the AS APIs or anything like it. So you’re stuck at “build everything yourself” 
if your intention is to connect to the Automation Runtime instead, then the best choice would probably be OpcUa, e.g.
