after enabling ARsim , and push monitor in automation studio , i tried to add some variables to the watch table but get message that no variables in the target. so my question/ the watching function only work with physical plc , or can work with ARsim as well if yes what could be the reason of my fault.
You have to transfer you program to ARSim. Only switching to it is not enough!
You can use transfer (CTRL+F5) or “Offline Installation” (ALT+F8) with activated ARSim, which will create a full ARSim including the project. Sometimes one is faster then the other, so both ways can be kept in mind. After just a few changes a transfer is likely to be faster. Even though when AS decides to recompile for whatever reason → Offline Installation might be faster.
