20 minute gap in build

Good morning,

We have a problem with one of our projects where there is a 20m 8s pause when we build all. The pause is on either TCData.br or ashwd

I tried this on a different machine and we get a pop-up with a message at the same point that says “Could not load old ODM settings”. If I click ok, it carries on and builds the project. If I leave it, I get this after one hour:

Any thoughts please?

Brian

Hi,

can you please give us a bit more background about the project? In detail:

  • which Automation Studio is used?
  • if Automation Studio 6.x → was the project upgraded from AS4.x?
  • do you use DTM devices, which ones?

Best regards!

Sorry, should have included that. AS4.12.5.95 SP

Profibus DTM devices:
Pilz PSS DP-S
Rexroth PPC DPS01_PC104
Rexroth MLC XM DP V1 slave
B&R X20BC0063
B&R IF361
B&R X20IF1063-1
ABB loadcell PFEA112
Siko AG02_PB

Thanks,
Brian

Hi,

I can’t swear, but I think there could be some interrelation with the DTM catalogue → at least the “could not load ODM settings” message points in that direction.

I would at least recommend to do a quick test: open “Tools → manage third party devices → update DTM catalog” to see if some additional error pops up.

After that, I would propose to contact your local support, maybe they have some more information about e.g. if reinstalling / upgrading DTM could help (especially because there could be also some context with other parallel installed development environments or versions of AS).

Sorry that I can’t give more information / advice on that,
best regards!

Thanks Alexander, DTM catalogue was a good clue

I made a copy of the project
Deleted the last DTM device I added from the tree in Physical View
Added the device again
Gave it the same node number and name as before
Copied IoMap.iom from the copy project

Builds fine now

Best regards,
Brian
