Hi,
I am having issues with my Automation Studio 4.11.6.26. When I open a project, it will show “An error occurred during synchronizing device description files to the hardware repository.” and two other errors.
I have no clue on how to resolve the first two errors. It doesn’t provide more information about the error itself. Besides, the last error persists even after I tried the two methods mentioned in AS6.5 install - Now issue with DTM Catalog Update in AS4.7 & 4.12.
One thing to note is that if I click Project → Clean Configurations then Project → Build Configurations, these three errors will be gone. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Thanks!
Hi @ShihHsing_Chen ,
First input: I see in AS rev history few DTM improvements in each version, one is very interesting:
so first recommendation: Could you update your AS 4.11.6? For example to AS 4.12.9?
Second input: In the prev post in the last point:
Have you done that?
Could you create an empty prj with your AS 4.11.6 with just your CPU and the minimum hw for adding your IO-Link device?
Is this issue just on your PC? Could you ask your colleagues to open your prj with their pc and see if they have same issue?
Last input: I found one note regarding DTM and AS < 4.12: "Automation Studio versions < 4.12 are not guaranteed to be supported with DTM 2.x."
This means uninstalling DTM 2.x and might include re-installing latest DTM 1.x
Thanks
Ciao

Hi Valerio,
Thank you for getting back to me.
First, I have AS 4.12.6.106 installed, and it happens to this version when I open the same project, too
Second, if I open a different project, it doesn’t happen on AS 4.11 and AS 4.12.
Third, yes, this only happens to my PC.
I’ll try the method you suggested above.

Hey Valerio,
I created an empty project with just this CPU and the errors aren’t there. Then I added the hardware one by one to see if any error pop up. Interestingly, nothing showed up after I added all the interface card like 5LS182.6-2. So the problem is in some module level item?
Lastly, I don’t know which NetX card to delete then reinsert. Do I need to check all “X20IF” Module Card and integrated “IF” Slot under the CPU?

Hi @ShihHsing_Chen ,
yup it’s easy to say by words “probably you have to delete the NetX card and reenter it again” …maybe a source control sw will nelp.
You can commit, on your branch, the actual prj with the error and then step by step new commit when you remove just one card and see in which point you don’t have the error anymore…a sequence of commit → revert commit…
Just an idea

Hey Valerio,
It’d be nice if B&R reveals more detail on what device description error it is so that I don’t have to do this kind of trial-and-errors. Thank you for your time and response!
