APC910 Faulty

We had an APC910 installed on one of our machines, and it had been operating normally for a long time. After a power-off and power-on, the APC showed a steady red LED. We were unable to recover it using the reset button or by cycling the power.

We then replaced the faulty APC910 with a new unit of the same part number from our stock. We removed the CFast card from the faulty APC and installed it in the new APC910. The new APC shows a steady green LED; however, the display shows a blue screen with the message “Machine B&R PC.”

Why does the screen appear blue?
Is it required to create new CF card from Automation Studio and put it on to new APC?

Hi @Chandrashekar_T , a solid red Power LED on an APC910 (even after resetting or attempting to press the “Power” button) usually indicates a hardware failure.

Can you please send a picture of the blue screen with the message?

Assuming the image is not corrupted and the CFast card is working properly, you should be able to insert it into a new APC910 with the same configuration and it should boot without issue. Do you happen to have a copy of the Windows/Hypervisor image? The next step would likely be to attempt to re-image the CFast card as it is possible that the image got corrupted.

Hi Rafael, Here is the image attached , i have planned to create the new CF Card and check.

Thanks for confirming. Please ensure that the BIOS setting Advances-> OEM features → Realtime environment is set to Enabled. You can access the BIOS by connecting a USB keyboard and pressing F2 immediately after a reboot.

I’ve hidden this post because it looks to be a duplicate of this one: 5PC900.TS77-08 PLC status red after power cycle; new controller green but HMI blue screen - Ask Questions / HMI & Visualization - B&R Community

If this is incorrect, please let me know!

Hi Marcus,

Thanks for pointing that out. You’re correct — this is the same issue my colleague posted, so no problem hiding this one.

The BIOS setting Advanced → OEM Features → Realtime Environment is already enabled. I’ve also noticed that the bootloader file is not being generated when the CFast is created, and I’m currently investigating this.
