AS Help : Incomplete hardware help

Hello,
I would like to report a recurring issue regarding the documentation available in the B&R software help, especially concerning hardware information.

As an example, the X20SA4430 module help does not provide complete information necessary for proper usage. In particular, there are no clear connection examples for passive or active transducers, which forces users to search for external documents available only online on the B&R website. This approach is rather inefficient, especially during design or commissioning phases.

It would be highly appreciated if the software help could include all essential technical information, or at least provide an explicit reference (e.g., a direct link) to external documentation, in order to offer a complete and easily accessible overview of the hardware.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Is there any way to manually integrate this kind of documentation into the help system?

Thank you in advance for any feedback.
Best regards,

Ennio Roberti

Hi Ennio,

If you have any feature requests or bug reports (including with the AS Help), please reach out to your local B&R support team. Unfortunately, we are not equipped to handle such requests on the Community (please see the Community Guidelines!)

If you have any specific questions about a module, you are welcome to post them here. However, if you’re looking for information that’s not available in the documentation, you are probably better off opening a support ticket as that will get you an official answer.

Hi Marcus,
This is not a bug report. I’m aware that these issues are generally handled through B&R Help (which I’ve been using since 2008). I assumed that with the new software release, these “cases” would have been resolved. The local support team always recommends consulting the documentation on their website. However, I was looking for other users’ opinions, as I believe most people expect to find all the necessary information in the help section. Best regards.
