Automation Runtime

Good day, I am pretty new to Automation Studio.

I am having an issue when adding a CPU to my project. It displays the following message:

I have tried install the AR separately that come with the installation media, but I am still having the same issue. I am using Automation Studio V6.3.3.14 (2025-09-04). I have read in the manual that the CPU requires a the following AS versions:

Could this be the issue or is it compatible with AS V6?

Hi @Hashmith_Rajcoomar

Automation Runtime is based on the hardware you are using and all runtimes are not in the installation media.
In the manual it’s look like a minimum version.
I recommend to use the menu “Tools/Upgrades” in Automation Studio, go in the Automation Runtime part, then download the last version, for your example you are using “4PPC50.0702-13B”, based on the Upgrades informations here:

You need to select the “PPC5x” runtime then “Download Selected Upgrades”.

Florent

Hi Florent,

I have tried that but for some reason my AS V6 just sits on “Please wait”.

I am using a demo license for AS could this be the issue?

I have also disabled my firewall and cleared out my temp folder, as i have read somewhere that could be a possible issue.

Hello Hashmith

Welcome to the B&R community.

Unfortunately when you have a test license, online upgrades are not possible. You’ll need to download them from our site and then install them via the tab ‘Local‘ you see in the screenshots you shared.

Good luck!

Hi Jan,

Could you please share a link to the Upgrade. I have checked and could not seem to find it. Not sure if maybe i am searching for it incorrectly.

Also want to confirm am i correct by saying that your AS version must match your AR version in order for it to work. Because when i check on the Download i can only find:

And my AS version is:

Thanks Florent seems to have worked. I was under the impression that it had to match the AS version.

For AS4.X you need to “match” the AS version and the Runtime version. But for AS6.X, there is no more need to match
