I deinstalled and installed the software like 5 times and it wont start. It only shows this window and disappears
i already tried installing the newest Technology guard, but it says that theres already a newer version and afterwards it closes the installation.
I also deleted every single data in connection with B&R.
It wont start, since my computer shut down. After that i couldnt open B&R Software 4.12 anymore.

You can try something if you have the license key of AS somewhere and you didn’t have other licenses using codemeter. It’s not the best way to solve it for sure:
CodeMeter.exe
C:\ProgramData\CodeMeter\CmAct some file should be presentCodeMeter.exeI would like to mention that I think there is a better way to do this, but honestly I didn’t know how. I was using this on some VM when I go a problem like this AS didn’t start for some reason.

Did you try uninstall CodeMeter from your PC then uninstall AS. Then reinstall AS from scratch he should reinstall CodeMeter correctly?
i did it in my last step. I uninstalled codemeter, afterwards i installed AS. DIdnt work.
I had the same problem.
My solution install automation Studio 6 and after AS 4.12 works again.
Actually you just need to install code meter runtime will work especially when you want 4.12 and 6 coexist.
Last time I’m using the installer of “Technology guard” but seem like latest version exclude it.

Sorry to hear that. What the symptom I have exactly same as yours after AS6 installation.
For installation of AS6.0, I need to install specific version:
Install the latest version come with installer of AS 6 will have a force close.
After AS 6.3, this no longer work. With Technology Guard above, I found that ASCode license is not working but all my AS4 works.
With AS6.3, you get technology guard version like below:
If you “unpacking” this exe, you will see “codemeter runtime” with version below:
I found that if above will not work for AS 4. What I do is download version from WIBU website:
Which have higher version than what provided by B&R. I will correct my sentence that Technology guard did not provide the runtime. It just the runtime not update enough.
The B&R version I have:
Remember to restart PC after install the runtime.

Please ensure that .net framework 3.5 is installed and activated.
You can check in windows features:
Not that this might justify or explain your issue, but I would always use latest AS Version, so 4.12.9.
Further please also check with your IT, if eventually your Antivirus blocks/deletes or puts some files eventually in quarantine.
Which Windows Version are you using, and is it plain windows or a VM?
