B&R SYSTEM 2003 CP476 - Get backup

Hi, can I also get PG2000 software?
Also maybe you can help out, we have 2 running B&R SYSTEM 2003 CP476 and one of them started to fail and corrupting the program.

Probably due hardware age. Is there any way to grab a backup from the plc? I don’t expect the source code, at least some binary dump file?

I tried Runtime utility center, and I manage to get ModuleList, but its just txt file with names. How do I get full program? Or b&r doesn’t provide single backup file?

Thank you!

Hi @david9123 ,

since it’s a new question I made your post into a new thread in order for others to find it as well.

Also ping @oliver_D since I didn’t split the part away where he requested the software

I will send you PG2000

For backup of old SG3 targets we have a rather nice howTo:

HowToBackupSG3Targets_eng_AT.pdf (1,0 MB)

The list you downlaoded is only a small part and necessary. Please see the Howto

best regards

Oliver

I read that manual before, so as I understand I need to manually write down all modules to upload from plc to get .br files.
But why B&R made those files in modules, why not in a single backup file? Feels a bit complicated.

About PG2000, some people said it’s possible, some say it’s not. If program was written with that software to get - upload actual source code? How?
I tried to connect with plc, opened GDM (F12) and selected Project > Synchronize but in return got this:

GDM Layer from PCC > RPS < Processor > CPU < not available
Maybe program isn’t written with pg2000? any way to find out?

A single file would be more convinient - for sure but such old PLCs did not offer such a functionality

The contents of this PLC are several files

There is no way to find out if it was done with AS or PG2000
