I recently installed a B&R X20CP1684 PLC with the corresponding I/O cards, but the analog modules are dark (connected via the X2X link), and consequently, the software isn’t detecting them either. According to the datasheet, no external power supply to the terminals is required.
I tried swapping their positions. I have the correct Bus Module and Terminal Block. The logger indicates that the module could not be found. I’m still having no luck—do you have any idea what the problem might be?
On the PLC terminal block, is the IO supply voltage connected, so the “24V I/O” and “GND” , either by a jumper or by extra cabling?
Please see here in the online help for connection examples (B&R Online Help).
Because it feels a bit like IO voltage in direction of X2X is not available (some modules then work at the bus but without output power, others maybe won’t work also in direction of the bus if IO voltage is missing).
If having the PLC “just on the desk”, the IO voltage supply is often realized via a jumper cable from the PLC voltage supply side (left) to the IO voltage supply side (right).
Well, that was the reason. Analog modules does not work only with X2X link, but It needed jumper between the terminal pins. Finally now the modules are powered on and software can detect them!
