Communication Error SuperTrak

Hello everyone, im working with a SuperTrak demo, but i have a problem with the communication between the Segment and the APC module.

The green led is blinking

while on the pc the communication module in the middle is not showing activity on the port.

I appreciate your help

Hi Alejandro,

Welcome to the Community!

Here are my initial thoughts:

  1. Your first picture shows the LED status of one gateway board. Are all segments the same, or are you having a problem with just one of them?
  2. In your first picture, I only see one Ethernet cable. There should be a second one coming out of this segment and daisy chaining to the next.
  3. I only see one Ethernet cable plugged into the SuperTrak PCIe card. You should have two cables here - one for the Left network and one for the Right
  4. Is this PCIe card added to your project? If you’re using the sample project provided in the Distribution Package, it should be in there already.
  5. Are you able to connect with Trakmaster? There are some communication diagnostic tools there, as well as the general fault history.

Thank you very much for the welcome and your answer, Marcus.

We are only working with one segment, that’s why we are only using one cable on the PCIe card and if it’s registered in the project.

Regarding the communication with TrakMaster it is not possible to establish communication.

I share with you the project logger.

I think that’s probably your issue. SuperTrak requires both the Left and Right networks to be connected, meaning that the smallest possible configuration is a loop with two straight segments and two curved segments. As far as I know, there is no way to use a single segment of a SuperTrak.

At the very least, you need to be able to connect with Trakmaster to configure your layout. If you are unable to do this, there is probably an issue with how the SuperTrak library is configured in your project, the PCIe card is not correctly added to the Physical View, or there is a network error between your development PC and the SuperTrak controller PC.

Hello, we already got the connection with TrakMaster!, I share with you the errors that appear, the demo has only one segment but before it worked normally, it is the same project, we have not modified it.
The demo was only left unused for about 3 months. We have not modified connections or the project.

Sorry for the incorrect information, Alejandro! I had previously thought this wasn’t possible, but now I see that you can in fact configure a linear system in the System Layout.

From your last screenshot, it looks to me that the software is not physically communicating with the segment. There are communication errors, but I also don’t see the segment in your list. For reference, this is what my (simulated) Trakmaster interface looks like:

As you can see, there is a section 1 in the list, whereas in your screenshot, there are no sections. Since I haven’t worked with a linear layout before I may be missing something, but this is what I would troubleshoot in your case:

  1. Check the System Layout in Trakmaster. Can you please share a screenshot of this?
  2. The first picture in your first post shows the gateway network (Ethernet) cable plugged into the right side of the segment, meaning it is on the Right network. However, it looks like your cable is plugged into the Left network port of the SuperTrak PC card. Try swapping one of these, and make sure it matches your System Layout. If your segment is on the Left network in Trakmaster, both sides of the Ethernet cable should be plugged into the Left network side of their respective interfaces.
