We would like to disable the USB interfaces on our T50 power panels for security reasons. Is this possible? The user manual does not touch on the topic…
Hi there,
a similar topic in regards to the “update” functionality was handled here: PPT50 Update function doesn't require password
Since that functionality can now be blocked, what other reason is there to disable the interface compeltely?
Anyway, if that’s still needed, I recommended “usb port lock” here: PPT50 Update function doesn't require password - #4 by michael_w and would apply the same solution to your issue
Best regards
Hi Michael,
thanks for the helpful suggestion. This could be a starting point.
However I would still prefer to be able to lock the USB interface altogether as it might still be vulnerable to e.g. USB HID attacks. Seems more intuitive to me to disable the interface instead of the update functionality… Hopefully this option can be added in future panel firmware releases.
