I have been trying to install the firmware update on the X20IF10G1_1 ethercat module, but I keep getting this error and I don’t know what could it be. And also the ECATRun and ECAT Err are flickering on my device.

as far as I know this “firmware download” is not used.
B&R uses the Hilscher NetX chip inside the IF10G1-1
The firmware on the IF10G1-1 is down or upgraded via the B&R PLC when selecting different versions within AS:
→ during bootup of the PLC this “firmware” will be copied to the IF card
The “firmware update” within the software you showed is the original software of Hilscher but not intended to be used for a firmware update of the chip inside the B&R IF card
Okay, thank you for the clarification. I was thinking that might be why I was getting an error on the EtherCAT module. I followed the commissioning documentation, but I’m still getting errors on the module when I try to add the device and connect it.
I also tested it in the simulator, and it worked without any issues while adding the device. However, I’m not sure why it’s not working on the actual device I’m planning to use , it might be related to the configuration.
This is most likely not cuased by firmware
The error arises within AS and the firmware is on the module during runtime - so it is not related to AS errors.
I would suggest to use the latest AS version (either AS4.12.8 or AS6.3.3) and also the latest DTM:

Also the used ESI file of your slave could be the problem and if it is not working you could attach it - I have a Ethercat conformance tool installed and could check the file for validity

Yes, I tried on the simulator and it worked. I think it’s something wit the configuration of the module, the ECATRun is flickering on my device and ECAT Err blinking. Even without the slave added, the lights are flickering and blinking on the device. Here is my configuration.
What are the settings of your PLK or X2X bus ? You are using “DC sync” which means the settings of PLK or X2X must be timer device and matching cycle times ?
Also where did you plug the cable to the slave (which port of the IF module) ?
