Hello,
My problem is actually similar to this topic: Alarm “Read access for write_only parameter; ParID: 115
While my process is working, sometimes I receive the same entry for the Read as the autor of that topic:
My working conditions are different:
- The command move absolute is not as fast as the previous topic. It is set to true maybe 2 times per minute.
- My update command is not set to true unless the machine operator change the reference position or the velocity, rarely they do that.
- I’m using mapp motion 5.30.2. The author of the previous topic said that the problem was solved by using 5.29, but for me that i’m using a version later still geting the same issue.
Hopefully, someone have found a different solution; or Should I downgrade to version 5.29?
Hello,
It looks like this is a wider issue. As far as i know there is no solution available, jet.
All cases of similar descriptions, i know, told that it is sporadic.
As this has to be considered as a not intentional behaviour i would recomment to contact your local B&R Support and open there a CASE and provide them all Informations about the situation.
- A Network Command Trace of the issue can help to compare the Situation to others.
- I think it could be related to Task-Class and Network-Timings, do you have some special combination here?
If you have any informations of how the issue can be reproduced would help to find it faster.
You can try 5.29, if there are no other features of 5.30.2 you need. All information about the Situation will help to find the root cause.
But i think 5.29 just has another likelyhood of occurance.
Greetings
Michael
Hello Michael,
This is my Task class timing and my network timing:
I don’t know how to reproduce the issue, it is so sporadic that we can’t predict when is going to show up.
I’ll take your recomendation and contact my local B&R support.
Meanwhile, I’ll try to downgrade to 5.29.
Also, I would like to add that I upgraded to 5.30 last sunday, and before that I was using 5.29 since august 2025 and during these past months that message never showed up.
Hello,
Ok going with the Support is good. If you get interessting updates, please let us know, i will do so aswell if i find something new.
You have also higher PLK cycletime than Motion-Task Class. I don’t know if this is the cause, but at least it is similar to the other situation i heared of.
They had 1:3 you have 1:2.
Greetings
Michael
Hi Everyone
It’s been almost a month since my last update to this post.
The problem seems to be solved for me by returning to mapp motion 5.29. It’s been working good since I changed the versions.
I also opened a CASE with my local B&R Support but since I couldn’t recreate the error I couldn’t recollect all the information needed for try to solve it.
Thank you all. Greetings
