MappCockpit: PLC refuses to connect to MappCockpit, but works in simulation

Hello,

MappCockpit works in simulation, but not on the PLC, where it says “site can’t be reached” in the browser. I have just changed from ACP10 to mappMotion and have tried to implement mappCockpit to test the servos. I reach the site through Tools → mapp Cockpit.

PLC: X20EM1611
AS: 6.5.2.12
AR:

Settings:

It only works with HTTP and not HTTPS in simulation.

I have the users set up as well:

What could be the reason it works in simulation and not on the PLC?

THANKS!

Hi @Almida ,
Can you open SDM when the simulation is off?
Thanks

Hi Valerio,

Yes, the SDM works.

ok, couple of ideas, we start with first one:
mappCockpit not loading - Ask Questions / HMI & Visualization - B&R Community

I had actually already found that thread and tested the time sync. After syncing it still differs 1 second, if that matters. It didn’t make a difference unfortunately, anyhow.

ok, second idea (I got input from expert):

Maybe the port 8084 is already in use on your PC. Could you try to configure another unused port?

Have you already used the command “netstat -a”? it will help you

Could you upload System Dump? We should see some errors…

Doesn’t that just matter if it doesn’t work on my PC? It works on the PC with 8084 but not connected to the PLC.

One thing I notice is that in the help, and in your picture here, there is a SLL configuration that is not available in my project, that box only comes up empty, but I don’t know if that matters.

It wouldn’t let me upload tar.gz so I ziped it once, I hope it works, let me know otherwise.

BuR_SDM_Sysdump_2026-05-11_17-11-06.tar.zip (2.2 MB)

Thanks!

no in your case HTTPS Server is off and HTTP Server is on so you are not configuring any certificate.

At the moment I don’t have other ideas, I hope someone else will help you.

====================
Actually I see one error in your logger:

Can you try to login with User?

========================
I did a test with arsim, I’m on this state:

No login yet:

and no error yet

Can you see this Login Popup window? or you don’t see that and immediately you have the message “This site can’t be reached?”

=================================
One more thing regarding your settings, Could you check your Authorization > Anonymous Access (Advanced Parameter Visibility on),
you should have the same settings as below:

and Everyone role permission:

=======================================================================
Connection with UaExpert: Is it possible to connect UaExpert to your opcua server?

Hi @Almida

Did you install your certificate in Windows already?

Don’t forget to add in your certificate the URI, DNS and IP Adresse.

Have you checked that your browser doesn’t redirect to a https website by default?

Instead of just entering the IP in the adress bar, add http:// to the beginning.

The port itself doesn’t help with a redirect to https or http.

I don’t reach the login window at all, only get the “this site can’t be reached” directly. In simulation I got the login window and could log in with User.

All of these settings were already correct.

Yes, I can reach it with port 4840 and see all the opcua variables. I couldn’t reach the mappview port 81 or the mappcockpit on port 8084, if that should be possible.

I can reach the mappView HMI at 192.168.1.105:81 and the SDM without issues through the browser and all the opcua variables connect properly between the PLC and mappView.

Thanks,
Almida

Hi Julian,

I tried this yesterday as well, and it didn’t make a difference unfortunately. I tried changing the settings to another port as well and that didn’t help either.

Hi @Almida ,
unfortunately your issue needs to be escalated to our Support.
Could you please call our Support and provide all tests we did on this post?
Update us when you find the cause of the problem.

What do you think @kovarj ?
Thanks

I figured it out. I was connected to the PLC remotely through VPN and when I tested with the cable it worked. Adding the correct port in the VPN made it work remotely as well.

Thanks to all of you for trying to figure it out for me!
