mpBackup: project install a different Configuration ID

Hi everyone,
I’m using mpBackup in my project and I have a question:
Is it possible to use the mpBackup to install an update that has a different Configuration ID?

I believe so, based on this page in the help B&R Online Help. Since you can request the info, to me it would imply it doesn’t check the info when loading. I couldn’t find a StatusID to indicate a warning or error if it detects a difference.

I haven’t used this library that I recall, but test out the ArProject library and that could load up project files without the Config ID matching.

thanks for your reply.
Yes, the guide does not explicitly that the IDs need to be the same.
I ran some tests and with mpBackup.
If the configuration IDs are different, I get the error “-1064289137, Cannot install update/backup on target system.”
If they are the same, the installation completes without errors.

I can confirm that with the ArProject library I am able to install with different IDs.

I would open a service ticket with your local office to have the documentation updated to make that clearer, ( i.e. it is required that the Configuration ID be the same) or that it reported as a bug.

Hi Jaroslav,

I wasn’t able to solve the issue with mpBackup. I decided to use the ArProject library instead, as it natively supports the operation I needed.
