Migrate program from AS v4.9.2.46 to V4.12.2.93 - Mapp Services 5.12.0

Hello,

I am trying to migrate my program developed under AS v4.9 to version v4.12. When I open my project file in AS V4.12, I have a window that opens and asks me to download the versions of each component (because they do not match the version in the project). I have done this 5 times but there is still a compatibility problem.

Can you tell me where the problem comes from and how I can solve it?

Because I am trying to find the appropriate versions of the project but I find them in what is offered to me.

I need help to install everything without to have some compile issues.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Benjamin, welcome to the B&R Community!

After installing technology packages, you need to set the version used in the Project. For mapp Services, and other mapp packages, this is done in Project > Change Runtime Version. After opening up that window, select the most recent versions that you have installed, and then hit Apply. This will change the versions in the Project to the new versions.

Note that you must have the same mapp “minor” versions across all packages, so if you for example add mapp View as well, that will need to be 5.24.x as well. More info in the Help article about Changing Runtime Versions.

For the Hardware Upgrade (in this case for the X20BM11), you will need to update the firmware to the version you have installed. To do this, navigate to the Physical View and find your X20BM11. In the Version column, select the currently defined version and hit the Spacebar. You should then be able to select the new version, 1.1.0.0.

Once you have made these changes, Save All (Ctrl+Shift+S) and then Rebuild the project.

Keep in mind that whenever you upgrade mapp versions, the configurations and packages you use may change how they work slightly, so make sure after you upgrade your versions to double check all your configuration files to make sure everything looks good.

Also, if you cannot find the specific technology package or hardware upgrade file you are looking for, you can always check directly on the website: https://www.br-automation.com/en-us/downloads/ (you may need to create an account).
