New APC - Win11 - Hypervisor - Dual Monitor Setup - Retrofit

Hi all,

I’m currently in a situation where we are looking for a solution to replace our existing APC3100 that serve two purposes

  • Retrofit older Generation machines running XP / Win 7 as a Win10 Upgrade currently
  • Power our new generation machines running Win10 + Hypervisor

Both generations do have the commonality that we use a two monitor setup. So we have a monitor (Automation Panel) on the front of the tool and one at the back. Both connect to the APC through SDL/DVI. The screens are set to Duplicate in Windows and we lock on or the other through ADI and PVI.

Since the APC3100 is going to LTB phase we need a replacement which can serve the above without major upgrade needs. Especially our dual monitor requirement is kind of a problem because i cannot seem to find a suitable solution for this.

The APC3200 catched our eyes BUT that only comes with Display Port onboard and SDL 4 as an IF card (which could subsequently only power 1 monitor)…

The other problem is that the old generation tools we cannot simply exchange the monitors so the old SDL/DVI is a given at least on the monitor side.

Hope someone might have an idea on what could potentially work.

Appreciate any feedback!

Thank you.

I have seen that just recently this IF card was added to be available for APC3200’s.

However it does not address our issue with 2 Monitors since the APC itself only offers Display Port Interfaces.

Additionally it shows as being in “Classic” phase.

Hello Robert,

For retrofit applications, the 5ACCLI02.SDL0-000 (SDL for xPC3200/APC4100) will be available. This would provide one SDL port for the APC3200 when upgrading existing panels, but it doesn’t help with the native DisplayPort on the APC3200.

It would help to understand what Automation Panel model number(s) you are connecting to. For capacitive multi-touch Automation Panels, the DisplayPort receiver (5DLDPO.1001-00) can be used to communicate display + touch (via DP + USB) back to the APC. For resistive single-touch Automation Panels, then it gets a bit trickier.

Regardless of the display communication protocol used for each display (DisplayPort/SDL/DVI/etc.), you will be able to duplicate the Windows display on multiple monitors using the APC3200.
