Happy to introduce new training recently released by my colleagues from Automation Academy.

New Training: Service & Diagnostics

The Service & Diagnostics training enables technicians to resolve machine faults in a structured and efficient manner. The focus goes beyond simply fixing errors and emphasizes a solid understanding of the overall system, including component interactions, communication, and system behavior.

Methodical Approach to Service Cases

Technicians are trained to handle typical service cases using a clear and methodical approach. The workflow starts with situation analysis and continues with structured diagnostics, root cause identification, targeted corrective actions, and a safe system restart.

Instead of relying on experience or trial and error, technicians develop a systematic way of working. The training builds an understanding of how systems are designed, how components interact, and how fault patterns can be logically interpreted.

This approach allows problems to be identified and narrowed down much faster, and root causes to be determined more precisely—for example, in cases where an apparent hardware fault is actually caused by communication issues or external influences.

Practical Use of B&R Diagnostic Tools

A central part of the training is the practical use of B&R diagnostic tools. Technicians learn how to read system states in a targeted manner, interpret diagnostic data correctly, and correlate information from different sources.
