Servo Motor with Endat 2.2 endoder with ACOPOS drive with Endat 2.1 input

I was wondering if anyone has ever replaced a servo motor connected to an ACOPOS drive (EnDat 2.1 encoder) with an Endat 2.2 equipped motor? HEIDENHAIN sent me information that they are backward compatible. I would like to know if anyone has been successful in adapting EnDat 2.2 to 2.1.

Thanks,
Tony

I’ve done it, it will work, the biggest issue I recall was the 15 pin Endat 2.1 vs 9 pin Endat 2.2 cabling for dual cable motors. There is a Endat 2.2 card that makes that easier.

Ok thank you.

My next step is to create a cable to map the pins correctly and test it. Luckily, I was able to find an ACOPOS drive with an Endat 2.1 input to test with.

Thanks,
Tony

Hi @Anthony_Romano , can you please update us with how your test went?

Sorry too busy to design and create cable interface, etc. I will post my findings as soon as I have a solution.
