Unable to add the mapp Vision Settings to the mappVision folder in AS6

My coworker and I have a problem where we are unable to add the “mapp Vision Settings” from the toolbox to the mappVision Folder. Normally a double klick or drag and drop works. This was also the way we could add the “Vision Application” and “Vision Component”. But the “Vision Settings” were not added.

Does anyone has the same problem, or maybe even knows what the problem is?
There is a workaround we found (see below).

Info:
Automation Studio V 6.1.1.14
mappVision 6.0.0
Automation Runtime 6.0.2

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Follow the “Getting started” as shown in the Automation Help (6.0.2.113).
    GUID: 5010b5f3-5c69-4bed-95d7-04abdd50d4e2
  2. On the step “Adding mapp Vision software components” try to double klick (or drag and drop) the “mapp Vision Settings”
  3. Validate that the Settings-file is in the mappVision Folder (which it wasn’t for us)

Workaround:
Crate a Vision Settings file in AS 4.12 and copy it into the AS 6 project unter
.\Physical\VSS_Config1\X20CP1686X\mappVision

Hi Nathan,

I created already a ticket, the answer from Support was:
"This is known issue, here is the workaround and please see attached screenshot:

  1. Open the following file: \AS\TechnologyPackages\mappVision\6.0.0\ApplicationSettings\ObjectCatalog.cfg

  2. Lines 85 and 86 must be deleted or converted into a comment

  3. Lines 87 and 88 must be uncommented "

Thank you very much. Also here is the full path to the default install location if anyone needs it (I searched in the old AS4.xx Folders at first :upside_down_face:):

C:\Program Files (x86)\BRAutomation\AS6\AS\TechnologyPackages\mappVision\6.0.0\ApplicationSettings
