Hello,
I have a question regarding hardware and software compatibility.
I am using an X20CP1586 with an Atom E680T CPU, whose drivers are only compatible with Windows 7. I plan to upgrade my Windows from 7 to 10, which also requires upgrading Automation Studio from 3.x to 4.x.
My question is: if I download the X20CP1586 hardware upgrade for AS 4.0, will it run correctly on my physical installation? In other words, is the hardware upgrade compatible with the Windows version required by AS 4.x, even if my CPU originally only supports Windows 7?
Thank you for your guidance.
I think there is some kind of an misunderstanding.
The X20CP1586 does not support Windows or have any Windows drivers.
The AS4 Hardware Upgrade for X20CP1586 will work with AS 4.x on with the Windows versions supported by AS4.x.
Automation Help 4: Supported operating systems
Hello Elias,
Do you mean ARwin ?
X20CP1586 has Automation Runtime , so it doesn’t matter what version of Windows you have. Because project transfer is done via Automation Studio (under Widnows)
So : Windows → Automation Studio → PLC ( X201685, X201586 ,X20CP0484 etc .. )
Exist table for Supported operating system for Automation Studio.
Thank you both for your responses.
There was indeed a misunderstanding on my end.
But your explanations + table made it clearer !
Regards.
