Using Runtime Utility Center for AS3.0.90 backups

Found in this discussion, thanks alex for sharing.

As promised, here some screenshot of the Runtime Utility Center of AS3.0.90

The following screenshot show how to create a image backup of the CF card, if a USB card reader is available (please note: never unplug / plug the CF card while the PLC is powered! This can damage your system, as it’s not a hotplug slot!)

The program should be available via Windows:

After “select disk”, you should see the CF card in the USB card reader.
If not, most probably the card reader is not supported.

When successful finished, you should have a “.zp2” file … now you have a backup of the running system as image that can be restored, but just on the same CF card type and size.
Restoring if needed is also done by Runtime Utility Center.

Please note that this is a binary image which doesn’t contains project data, source code a.s.o. So if changing the project sources, please backup the AS project before also.
Such a CF image is good to have before transferring (major) software changes, because it gives you the possibility to go back to the old binaries (by restoring the image to the CF card) if needed.
