What's in the box? - 8F1I01AA66.A000-1

Welcome back to another addition of “What’s in the box?”

General Overview
The goal of these posts are to share photographs of unboxing B&R hardware to help spread the knowledge about B&R packaging for particular items. You may be asking “Why post this?” We have found at times that customers fear they might be missing something, or are unsure as to what certain items are when they open the “box” for the first time. Without prior knowledge on what all comes with the hardware when shipped, it can be a challenge without having a reference. That’s where the “What’s in the Box?” idea came to fruition. To share the experience, and knowledge on what are included in the boxes and descriptions/information about these items.

Today we will be showing off one of the many ACOPOStrak segment pieces that B&R has to offer, the ACOPOStrak straight segment. Also known as 8F1I01AA66.A000-1.

For those who are not familiar with the ACOPOStrak, its modular transport system based on a long-stator linear motor that enables flexible and precise movement of individual shuttles within production lines. Shuttles can move independently, be grouped or synchronized – with built-in collision avoidance and seamless process integration across multiple stations.

Upon removal of the first two sets of cardboard protection we can see that the segments are wrapped in what can only be described as “industrial Shrink Wrap”. I assume this helps prevent any finger prints getting on the segments, but would love to hear what its true purpose might be. For those who have peeled off the protective sheets from glass panels, your in for a treat!

Something I thought was neat was the corner covers. It seems that they make a tiny notch to protect the connection points for the straight segments.

After removing the segment from the packaging, we can see that on the back contains the part number and serial number, along with the arrow direction of the segment.

You can find out more about the ACOPOStrak from the B&R website, or through the B&R Help explorer. Links to such resources are provided down below.
