X20BC00E3, error GSDML file version is not supported?

Im not expert for this but using chatGPT and google i found this:

This error indicates that the GSDML file (Generic Station Description Markup Language) being used is not compatible with the current version of your software or hardware configuration.

in version history of GSD package is mentioned that GSDML V2.25 is included.

Conclusion:
You have to contact official B&R support and request update

Hello, B&R does not offer a newer file with a newer GSDML version (as there is no benefit of this new version)
Therefor you have to get in contact with the software manufacturer and ask why they need a GSDML version above 2.25 and why they are not compatible with older versions

As I mentioned, I’m not an expert on this topic. Oliver is. So if there is no benefit from the newer version, then the import limit to certain version makes no sense. Usually, software manufacturers try to keep backward compatibility.

Hi The statement “(as there is no benefit of this new version)” does not seem correct. Without support of GSDML 2.4 B&R X20 Profinet controllers cannot integrate Profinet APL devices (2 wire ehternet with Profinet PA profile). So an entire segment of emergent Profinet devices now cannot be integrated into a B&R controller scheme. We solved our project issue by working with a gateway supplier and supporting the update of their firmware and tooling to support GSDML 2.4 and now we can integrate APL devices into outr B&R projects through a 3rd party gateway. This however is not sustainable in new projects and will mean we look to alternate controllers with up to date Profnet conformance. On our way to solving this issue have found a number of workarounds editting GSDML source that can realise a solution on B&R platform, however this is not desireable as certified GSDML is a cornerstone of interoperability. In closing we were very surprised at B&R’s dismissive response to this issue when we raised it in 2024.

I am a bit confused now.

The X20BC00E3 is no Profinet PA device - it is a Profinet IO device

PROFINET PA is essentially PROFINET IO with process automation-specific device profiles and standardization. Our X20BC00E3 does not offer this PA specific profile so a gateway must be used as without it will not be possible.

It seems you speak of a Profinet master which the X20BC00E3 is not

Apologies. In my topic search I had the 10E1-1 Profinet RT Master GSDML and I have lambasted you with a Profinet IO slave comment which is not relavent. No issue here. My issue relates to B&R Profinet RT Master capbility with GSDML 2.4. Really looking for a solution here.
