Hi, I have an issue with two X20 modules, X20IF10E3-1.
In the Siemens Hardware configuration I have configured 6 times 64bytes in, and 32 bytes out, as I was told to by the supplier.
We use the latest GSD file, version 2.34.
Communication is established, but it gives an error telling us that slot 0 has an incorrect submodule. There is nothing else to choose in the catalog so I don’t understand what the problem is.
Does anybody now?
The top part in the screenshot below (with the slots) is from the supplier (not the Siemens configuration), the rest is online view on the Siemens side.
looking at your screenshot I see that on the B&R side the IF10E3-1 is called “NetX100”
This indicates a really old version of this card or to be more precise of the used firmware/hardware upgrade used inside Automation Studio for this card.
If I enter such a card within my Automation Studio it is correctly called “IF10E3-1” as you can see:
I will contact the vendor with this information since I am not familiar with or responsible for the X20 module and Automation studio. I only deal with the Siemens (PCS 7) side.
Will let you know the result once tried.
Thank you for the manual. Makes me understand better how the other party sets up the configuration.
Yes, I have added 6 times 64 byte input, and 1 time 32 byte output as submodules.
Not in TIA but in Step 7 HW config (since it is PCS 7).
I am just wondering now if their screenshot was supposed to be what we should configure at the controller (as I was told to do) or if it is how they configured the X20 device.
In that case, should the controller side not be the opposite, 6X64 bytes out, and 1x32bytes input?
I see we also have to make sure that we (still) have the correct device names of the two units when the vendor makes changes in the configuration (chapter 5.1.2.1 of this manual).
The modules are always seen from the master perspective, so if they define 64 bytes Input, you do the same. In AS they will show up as outputs. The important part is that they match exactly in size and that the device name is correct.
