I am going to use FoE function on X20IF10G3-1 for about 2 kB of file.
I haven’t use EtherCAT before and I got request from the customer that they would like to get the specific file though EtherCAT on B&R PLC.
In the manual, it says X20IF10G3-1 could support FoE but, I couldn’t find and example and some more detail explanation for this function.
Could you anyone explain the way to send the file ?

As far as I know Automation Runtime cannot access to FoE protocol.
Because Hilscher does not support FoE over sycon.net.
If you develop a netX chip at the firmware level, you can access the feature.
This means that FoE is not available on the IF module.
Perhaps it seems to be a problem in the process of modifying the Hilscher netX datasheet to fit the B&R IF module…

the chip used in the IF10G3-1 does support FoE. Nevertheless there is no library to make use of the FoE feature on the PLC
In other words it is not (probably yet) possible to use FoE
