Hi!

The AS help / homepage / Safety Technology Guarding are stating that the order key should / must be configured using the X20MK Configurator! I wasn’t able to find such a tool anywhere. Could anyone point me in the right direction? :slight_smile:

Hello,
With SafetyRelease there have been Licences on the SafeKey. With the Transition to MappSafety these Licences where moved to the Technology Guard and Terms&Conditions Licences.

I am not aware of a puplic X20MK Configuratior but that must not mean it does not exist.

For MappSafety the Safekey is only one Ordercode for the Key itself.

If you need a Key for SafetyRelease, i would recommend to check the requried features.
And then refer to you local B&R Sales contact to let them generate the Set-Configuration of the Key and the Licences.

That is also an info from B&R sent out to a customer:

X20 SafeKEY, für S20SL81xx Serie, für Safety Legacy und mappSafety: Der verfügbare Funktionsumfang wird durch das “Safety Technology Guarding” definiert. Der SafeKEY stellt dabei das Trägermedium für die Lizenzen dar. Der für die Anwendung benötigte Funktionsumfang muss durch eine Auswahl der verfügbaren Technologiefunktionen im X20MK-Konfigurator zusammengestellt werden. Die Lieferung erfolgt ausschließlich im Set bestehend aus SafeKEY und den darauf freigeschalteten Lizenzen für die ausgewählten Technologiefunktionen.

So all in all a bit “missleading” IMHO since no one really seems to know the X20MK configurator… That’s why I was hoping someone can shed some light on this matter :slight_smile:

Hello,

as it was still a bit unclear, i have now asked a Sales Collegue. This MK-Configurator was an internal B&R Sales tool, not available for coustomers. This Configurator was only needed to combine the SafeRelease Licences with the Dongle to a so called “Set”.

It is indeed missleading that this information about this internal tool made it into the puplic documentation.

if there is a need for a new SafeRelease Safekey with Licences, please contact the B&R Sales. They can support you to get to correct Key.

For MappSafety and Safety+ this tool is not required. MappSafety does not have Licences on the SafeKey and Safety+ does not even have SafeKey anymore.
