Has anyone had the problem I am seeing and found a fix? I have a 6PPT50 HMI on my system and I would say 50% of the time when I login, the screen greys out a little and the wheel starts turning. I have seen it take up to an hour to login. If I go online with the system on my laptop and go to the visualization on Chrome, I am able to login instantly which leads me to believe it has something to do with the physical 6PPT50.
Hi, can you share a little more details, what Automation Studio and mapp Version are you using? When you look at the logger in AS does it show any errors?
Stephan
Hi, I am using AS version 4.12.7.113 and mapp version 5.23.1. I am not by the machine today but the last time I checked I do not remember seeing anything abnormal.
That is really strange, I would start by trying to update mappView to 5.24 and the firmware of the T50 to the latest firmware.
Do you have “Wait for NTP Sync” option checked in the T50 panel setting? If so, you might want to uncheck it to see if it is the problem.
It doesn’t look like I am able to upgrade to MappView5.24 as it conflicts with my Mapp Motion version (5.23) and the only other version I can find for MappMotion is (5.29).
Phong, where is that option? I do not see it on both the PPT50 or in AS.
The setting is located in “Web” tab in the service page of the T80 panel. I was assuming the T50 panel would have the same setting.
My T80 image version is v1.7.0.
I could not find the setting in the HELP file.
Hi Stephan, I have downloaded the firmware but I cannot figure out how to get the EXE loaded onto the PPT50.
My apologizes, please use this link, unzip the files and put them on a USB stick. Then follow the guide from the manual
V4.3 LX Upgrade PPT50 ZIP | B&R Industrial Automation
6.2.2 Updating with a downloaded from the website and USB flash drive
Updated versions of the PPT system are made available on the B&R website in the form of an upgrade package
that includes a PPT image. To update the PPT system using an upgrade package from the B&R website, the
following steps must be carried out.
- Download the Power Panel T-Series upgrade package from the B&R website (www.br-automation.com). This
upgrade package is available in various places on the website:
° Directly on the product page (it is possible to search for the model number) in section “PPT upgrades” under tab “Downloads”.
° On the download page under Software > Automation Studio > Automation Studio 4.3 (or higher)
in category “Linux images”.
Download the upgrade package in ZIP format (not EXE format)! - Unzip the ZIP file with the corresponding contents directly into the root directory of a USB flash drive:
° PPT50Image.img.gz
° PPT50Image.md5
° PPT50Image.img.gz.sig
° Readme.txt - Connect the USB flash drive to the Power Panel.
- Select function Update settings / boot logo / system on service page Update (see section “Service page
Update” on page 75).
Below is the summary of the issue that I am experiencing with T80 panel. Basically, the T80 clock takes a very long time to sync with X20EM0611. Therefore, the mappView graphic only shows the loading circle. Below is the communication between me and B&R support team
Hi Phong,
*Sorry for the delay. I wanted to give you a quick update while our R&D team works on a fix. *
The root cause seems to be that the AR NTP server does not send the configured Stratum value immediately after the PLC boots and instead takes a few minutes until the T-panel can synchronize properly.
However, as you have found noted, some browser elements stop working once the time synchronizes.
This is because the browser cookies have a limited lifetime of maximum 400 days (and the T80 panel originally had a time set in 2023).
This means the cookies expire and not all web socket requests are handled properly anymore.
I have found that using the setting in the T80 Service pages → Web → “Wait for NTP sync” mitigates the issue with the expired cookies and the elements seem to work, but you of course will still have the issue with the NTP server taking a long time to respond.
For this reason, we are working hard to understand why it takes so long for the NTP server to respond, and I will keep you posted with any updates in the case.
There will be a fix to be released later this year.
Hello Phong,
A solution for this issue has been planned for Automation Runtime Q4.93, scheduled for release at the end of October. Let me know if you have any questions.

If the NTP server is not also a client (the local clock is the only time source), the “prefer” option is set so that the local clock is trusted immediately. This speeds up the clock synchronization time in this particular use case.*

AR Q4.93
AR 6.4.0
I still think your problem might be similar to mine.
