ACOPOS 1022 - Communications test with CAN BUS and Automation Studio

Dear community members,

I want to test the communication between an old ACOPOS 1022 drive (Rev. Q0) with AC110.60-2 communication module and an automation PC running hypervisor and I would like to verify compatibility with Automation Studio 4.12.

Is it possible to test the drive with the Test function of Automation Studio with the current setup? Can I use the aforementioned version of A.S.?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hello Spyros,

We are faced with the challenge of having to use a very new hypervisor-capable operating system with a very old ACP10 version (Acopos driver).

1: ACP10 version
CAN support was removed in ACP10 versions > 3 This means we need an ACP10 version < 3.

I checked this. It is possible to download and select a ACP10 Version 2.52 in AS 4.12.

After an ACP10 Upgrade it was still possible to configure this in AS4.12

2: System Designer Configuration

It is also possible to create a HW configuration with hypervisor capable HW.

This means that the basic requirements are met so that it could still work.

Note: It is not mandatory to use AS4.12. The hypervisor is already supported with 4.4.

Best regards Stefan

Your prompt and detailed reply is greatly appreciated, Stefan. Thank you!
I am only able to use local install packages as I am still on the trial version.

Can I find version 2.52 somewhere as an installation package?

Hello Spyros,

the Acp10 software V2.52.7 can be downloaded from here: AS4_MC_Acp10_V2.52.7

Thank you, I installed it successfully and transferred the project again.

Is the test function from within Automation Studio compatible with CANBUS?

When I am right clicking the ACOPOS in the System Designer and select “watch”, I receive the error message you can see below:

I was receiving the same error before downgrading to 2.52.
This can be either a compatibility issue or a wrong CAN configuration I suppose, but an additional feedback would help.

These old Acp10 software versions contain several variants of Acp10man and Acp10sys (for different automation target types and networks).
Make sure that in your project you have those from here:
…\BrAutomation\AS\Library\Acp10man\V2.52.7\SG4\CAN

The ones in the screenshot are the POWERLINK variants, yours must be much smaller:

This was the problem, indeed. I had to replace these 2 files (objects) manually and transfer the project again. Now the communication works flawlessly.

I am truly grateful for your support, sirs. Thank you!
