I am currently looking for the GSDML file for the B&R ACOPOS servo module 8V1010.001-2 to integrate it with a Siemens S7-1500 controller via PROFINET. Could you please provide me with the corresponding file or let me know where I can download it?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,

Hello Jan,
The ACOPOS servo drive (8V1010.001-2) does not include an communication interface per default. There are 2 options of communication interfaces available, either CAN or POWERLINK (see attached picture)

Due to this its not possible to directly connect the servo drive to a S7-1500 PLC. What is possible for sure is to use a little B&R PLC as motion gateway which commuicates with SIEMENS via PROFINET by using the following interface card (X20IF10E3-1 - The GSDML package is available here to download)
X20IF10E3-1 GSD Package | B&R Industrial Automation

Hope this helps.

We are currently modernizing an old system and using an S7-300, which was already communicating with a B&R ACOPOS in the past. Since we require a Profibus DP interface, we are keeping this existing PLC setup.

Now, I am facing the challenge of correctly setting up the communication between the S7-300 and the ACOPOS. However, I am unsure about the exact procedure to implement it properly.

I would appreciate any insights from those who have experience integrating a B&R ACOPOS with an S7-300 via Profibus DP. Specifically, I am looking for guidance on:

  • How to configure the ACOPOS as a DP-Slave in the S7-300?
  • Which parameters need to be considered for successful communication?
  • Is there a specific GSD file required for the ACOPOS, and where can I find it?
  • Any troubleshooting tips in case the connection does not work immediately?

Please check if a so called “AC140” is plugged in your Acopos
I think that this might be the case

@Jan_Zimmermann : Would be interesting to understand which interface cards are present inside the ACOPOS (one seems to be the resolver card 8AC122.60)

Most probably the first card inside the ACOPOS is the 8AC140 which is plug-in CPU which has onboard also an ProfibusDP interface.
This would be the link to the GSD package for this type of CPU ( 8AC140.6x-x GSD Package | B&R Industrial Automation)
