APROL WAGO 750 Modbus Communication

Good Afternoon,

I am looking to connect into a rail of IO, the customer doesn’t wish to rewire. The plan is to only change the Controller/ Coupler and then use Modbus TCP to connect into

APROL via the controllers network modbus_tcp_any module.

My question is, is there anyone with any knowledge of doing this? Is it a good solution. I have a few couplers in mind 750-362 or the 750-891.

Using e-cockpit or WAGO-IO-PRO.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hallo Dale,

I recommend the X20BC0087 | B&R Industrial Automation (Modbus TCP) and the X20 IOs X20 System | B&R Industrial Automation . This offers significantly more flexibility than the Wago system.

Stephan

Hi,

This has been considered but the customer would like to keep all the wiring the same (B&R don’t make 230V 16A relay output cards). Changing the WAGO controller and keeping

all the existing I/O modules was the safest option.

Would just like to know if anyone has used MODBUS TCP to speak to WAGO controllers from APROL/ Automation studio.

Kind regards,

Dale Webb

APROL supports Modbus TCP. Communication with the WAGO controller should not be a problem.

Further information, such as how Modbus TCP works, can be found here: Configuring the controller as a Modbus master
