ARSim Disabled When Controller Redundancy Is Enabled (X20CP3687X + X20IF10X)

Automation Studio 6.5.1.7

Controller: X20CP3687X
Redundancy Interface: X20IF10X

When “Activate redundancy” is set to ON in the CPU configuration, the menu Online → Activate Simulation becomes disabled.

If redundancy is switched OFF, ARSim works normally.

Is Controller Redundancy officially supported by ARSim? If yes, what configuration is required to enable simulation of a redundant controller pair?

Hi @leehsm ,
Welcome to our Community!
I checked the Limitations on our Help and I think what you see it’s expected behavior, but it will be nice having an additional sentence on that page regarding the limitation with arsim.
Could you report that to our local Support in your area so they can ask R&D to review for that page in the help for arsim.

Thanks

Thanks to reply,

I want to active sim at the CPU controller X20CP3678X,In this simulator, you can enable single-CPU mode. If you then attempt to enable redundant mode, you will be unable to do so.

When I activate the SIM in single mode and enable the redundancy option, the system shows that it is in redundancy mode during the transfer, but this prevents the transfer from taking place. If there is a way to resolve this, please let me know.

Hi @leehsm ,
I guess I miss one point, sorry about that: Why is it important for arsim to activate redundancy mode? Which redundant functionality would you like to test with arsim?
Maybe, again, maybe we have different expectation on what you can do with arsim, that’s why additional note in our documentation in the limitations page will help.

The aim is to enable simulation by configuring the hardware settings with the redundancy option enabled, as we do not currently have a physical PLC.

Hi @leehsm ,
You have to call the B&R office for your country: Locations and discuss your product request.
