Automation Studio can`t start

I installed Automation studio 6.5.0.306.

System configuration is:

Microsoft Windows 11 Enterprise

Procesor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i5-1145G7 @ 2.60GHz, 2611 Mhz, core: 4

16GB RAM

Installation was completed without any errors. When trying to start the studio, the starting “picture“ bellow shows and than it disapears and nothing happen.

Any clue what can be wrong?

Hello,

I don’t know this behaviour jet, so i am just starting Brainstorming…

  • Did you used a older AS6.x installation before?

  • Can you test to delete the Tempfiles related to AS6 (AppData is a Hidden Folder - can be shown via Explorer Options)
    C:\Users\ {UserName} \AppData\Roaming\BR

  • Can you check the Event-Logs of Windows , if there is any Report from Automation Studio or related Software.

I would like to add one more point to check, additional to Michael’s suggestions:

Please check if .NET Framework 3.5 is activated in the Windows features and, if not, please activate it.

Hello,
I’ve seen something similar with AS version 4.12.
If Evet Viewer doesn’t tell you more , and the Framework is installed.
Then you can try :

  1. Does the Windows user or path to AS not contain special characters?
  2. Does the Windows user who installs AS have full Admin rights? Is AS installed as administrator?
  3. Try turning off Antivirus SW (Defender, Avast, Eset etc.)
  4. Is it possible to start and open PVI Manager and Technology Guarding?

Hi,

are you using AdminByRequest? Can you please try the following procedure.

  • Download AS6.5 ZIP file

  • Right click on the ZIP file

  • Under security check the box in the image

  • Unzip the file

  • Run installation for AS6.5

Hi,

I would like to add something where you could investigate, I already saw this time ago on AS4.X on a VM.

I didn’t really completly remember the root cause, but for sure it was related to CodeMeter.
Was probably the AS container that got error or something like this, causing that AS didn’t even start due to license checking failed.

Hi, sorry for not answering so long. I had to over hand the issue to our IT person as I needed often admin access which I do not have. I will inform about the progress. But till now no change.
