Master-Slave configuration

I´m a beginner and had little experience with single axis motion control, as a part of study i like to learn the master slave configuration through simulation.

Automation studio 4.12, and palnning to do ACOPOSmulti 8BVP0440HW00 as the power module and X20CP1585 as the controller.
which ACOPOS driver and motor for both the masteer and slave should i choose.

Thank you

Hi,

That’s, of course, a very general question. Perhaps you could specify in more detail what kind of assistance you need.
Is it more a matter of software architecture or hardware sizing?

In other words: what do you want to connect as master and slave?

What is your application, what is your load, what is your knowledge ?

If you’d like a short answer:

  • Almost any B&R motion hardware is capable of establishing a master-slave connection.
  • You should use Mapp Motion as the base software, not ACP10
  • The simplest connection can likely be achieved using MpAxisBasic and MpAxisCoupling

I like to learn the master slave configuration that is the main idea to take this project.

just a simple conveyor system,I´m a begineer to this.I have a student Automation studio liscence, and trying to learn through simulation

ok. Simulation is quite ok and sufficient.

So i recommend you to follow the documentation for the function blocks mentioned above

or visit the online courses Axis coupling with mapp Motion [SOC417.1] | B&R Industrial Automation

If you end up needing actual hardware later on, it might be best to contact a local B&R office.

Do i need to purchase this course or how to access this course.

some of the courses a free of charge, some are paid.

here is some info Online courses - Distance learning with B&R | B&R Industrial Automation.

Hello,
Just want to add…

which ACOPOS driver and motor for both the masteer and slave should i choose.

If you work in the Simulation ArSim you don’t need to specify a Motor.
I would choose a general wildcard Ordernumer with 8BVIxxxxx
As you will need 2 Axis a Double Axes Module would be a nice one.

For sure this is only a small step to go ahead with learning. But i think @christoph.hilchenbac gave you allready some more general hints about how to start learning.

Greetings
Michael
